  • Architectural ownership of some technical platforms which includes understanding and defining the Current maturity of the platform, the risks, uplift and improving the capability, defining target state and roadmap to. This requires strategic thinking.
  • Definition and ownership of Guidance/Guardrails on how to use the technology and how not to.
  • Consulting and supporting other Architects when they need to consume the technology platform/capability.
  • Working on Domain initiatives (within Enterprise Technology) to improve or uplift the platform and its capability.
  • Depth of technical knowledge, working with engineers.

  • Conform with all internal operating procedures relevant to the position.
  • Continually seek out relevant industry and technical knowledge and improve on professional skills by completing necessary development activities and actively share knowledge acquired with appropriate audiences.
  • Coaching, monitoring, supervision of direct reports to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to perform their role to be compliant with Financial Services Reform Act requirements and external legislation in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Provide technical direction and leadership to the service team, across the technology lifecycle, creating and maintaining the Target State Architecture for each capability within the service and mapping all components to the asset management system
  • Align service roadmap to NAB technology strategy and architectural principles/patterns
  • Establish the current state, target state architecture positions for the service.
  • Maintain the cohesive service boundary based on Views across NAB service teams and API/contract set and Eventing model for the service
  • Deliver a comprehensive quality attribute-based service architecture that includes technical debt, currency, failure analysis, service performance targets, scalability targets, and availability targets
  • Perform service optimisation, scaled modelling, various forms of walk- throughs and design reviews
  • Drives the service feature backlog grooming and raises features, epics and stories as suited for delivery and providing architecture input into the prioritisation of backlog items. Ensure capabilities external to the service are also identified as dependencies where appropriate
  • Create impact analysis of service functional and non-functional requirements and constraints on the planned service roadmap in the current business and technology environments including the regulatory impacts and risks to the service design and supportability
  • Make and document architectural decisions to satisfy regulatory and compliance requirements for the service.
  • Validate design artefacts for completeness, ensuring testability to enable effective change management for the service.
  • Establish governance procedures to ensure the implemented software meets the design requirements and is done in strict accordance to the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), NAB Technical Enterprise Architecture standards, tools, and design specifications.
  • Assess service capacity planning requirements and Service Level Agreement (SLA) for impact on the target service architecture


YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE


  • 10+ years experience in the Technology industry.
  • 5+ years experience in Software Development and Solution Design.
  • File and batch scheduling and file transfers between applications and services. Technology such as BMC Control-M.
  • Application Messaging technologies (Request/Response such as IBM MQ). Includes hollowing out legacy middleware (Global Channel Services – GCS) into APIs and microservices.
  • Strong understanding and know-how of APIs (REST/JSON), API quality and governance and the associated API Gateway applications (Kong API Gateway)
  • Experience and demonstration of agile practices.
  • Experience with both packaged and custom build software as well as
  • third party vendors and partners.
  • Experience with collaborating to achieve outcomes across business,
  • project and technical teams.
  • AWS or Azure certification (preferable)
  • Stakeholder management
  • Communication and influencing skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Systems integration experience in complex legacy environments
  • involving mainframe transaction processing, web delivery, message
  • integration and data warehousing components.
  • Exposure to the Banking industry
